Configuration not supported in the ld subdir! :-(

There is no fix.  Nobody has ported the code in ld (and BFD) necessary to
link objects for SOM (the native object format for hpux machines in 32bit
mode).

However, that shouldn't be a problem as the rest of the GNU tools produce
code which is compatible with HP's tools and thus you can use the system
linker.
