irix n64 and n32 ABIs

Hi all. :)  I would like to cross compile for irix
6.5, but as I understand as and ld don't understand
the new ABIs.  Is this true?  If so, does anyone 
have any information whatsoever regarding the n64 and
n32 ABIs?  I would love to add the code myself, but 
I can't find squat for documentation.
