infinite output

from recent cvs binutils :
 I obtain infinite output , which seems to me should not occur 

./ld -vV   - is ok

GNU ld version 2.11.92 20011213

but when I issue ./ld -Vv   or certainly wrong option -vv
I obtain infinite output , that i can't stop .
I don't think it's default behavior ...
