IEEE 695 file format

Hello,

I am trying to extract an IEEE 695 format file using the GNU binutils. 
Unfortunately it isn't apparent to me how I should go about doing so.  I
have tried a number of things, namely modifying the makefile and the
sbc5206elite.ld files so that they would generate IEEE files, but to no
avail.  I have also tried to extract an IEEE file from an ELF file with the
following command:

m68k-elf-objcopy --debugging -I elf32-m68k -O ieee cfloat.elf cfloat.695

and even though I have managed to get most of the IEEE 695 information,
including line numbers, for some reason I have been unable to get the source
code reference for the cfloat.c file.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this before and knows what steps
are required in order to generate complete IEEE files.
