Binutils 2.10.0.12 on redhat 6.2 with egcs 1.1.2

Dear Sirs,

Actually I am not sure wether this is the accurate adress to report the
following. Excuse myself upfront.

After installing binutils latest on a stock redhat 6.2 I get sig11 after
bootstraping gcc2.95.2 which bootstraped fine a couple of minutes ago on
the otherwise same machine.

System is RedHat 6.2 AMD Duron on MSI-6330
Helixcode otherwise stock.
Not overclocked, no fancy stuff, no tweaks.
