Well, no matter what the standards say, there is a compiler that
mis-compiles a native tool-chain, which means (to me) that at least
this target should be modified to work around this bug (or feature) or
the compiler at hand.  It's not like it's hard to fix, so I feel we're
just wasting our time in this discussion.
