What's the stand on supporting the native lex?

Regarding my previous suggestion and patch to add directives to
binutils/arlex.l that are needed for lex but not for flex, I have just found
such directives in ld/ldlex.l. I think this fact may make my idea and patch not
so out-of-question after all...
