Thanks for fixing this before I could even offer my help here :-). It passes
the testsuite on powerpc-linux-gnu without regression and the usual single FAIL.

I've applied your patches to HJ's 2.9.5.0.34 and put up a RPM on
< ftp://devel.linuxppc.org/users/fsirl/R5/RPMS/ppc >.
