why not just try it?
Yes it looks OK to me. Note you are testing string values not mumeric
values. It might be that you really want $a=1 not $a='1' it depends.
if numeric tests are OK and you know it's an integer you could say
$a > 0 and $a < 5
instead of listing 1 2 3 4 explictly.
