Brainbench XSL test and certification overall

  Hi all,

just wanted to point out that XSL certification test is still free at
http://www.brainbench.com (online testing company). Their policy this year
changed that first 500 test takers can now have a free test while later all
must pay and thus tests are not free anymore. Two points here:

- I've passed the test at Master level. I think all who regularly read and
use knowledge spread in XSL mailing list can get around mark 4 (of 5, 4 is
needed for Master level, 2,75 for regular) but the knowledge of specs is
crucial or at least fast finding of an answer. Gee I like this in Europe so
called American learning approch (important is know how to find the
information not have to know all the information).
So if you need a certification you can take this one - member registration
is free if you are not yet Brainbench's member - but please be serious since
every attempt is logged and number 500 is quickly gained ... From my
experience if you take a test more than 4 times in 90 day period this will
be noted in (your) public transcript - well, you could remember some of the
questions ... you get the idea.

- what do all think about such XSL test and certification overall? I think
Brainbench's one is the first world-wide for XSL technologies and I for sure
will probably get more perceived value in the eyes of my clients for having
such certification. What about XSL classes (if they are available yet) at
let say well known companies or at online learning centers? Do these
certifications have any value for clients/customers?

Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with Brainbench.
