I'm pretty sure that applying utrace.patch from here
http://people.redhat.com/roland/utrace/old/2.6.28/
will give you what you want.

I got my utrace snapshots (2.6.27, 28, 29) from this git tree:
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/frob/linux-2.6-utrace.git
