People still use VMS; for example, HP released a new C compiler for it
last month <http://h71000.www7.hp.com/commercial/c/c_index.html>.
As usual this compiler defines __VMS not VMS when in strict mode; see
<http://h71000.www7.hp.com/commercial/c/docs/5492profile_025.html#predef_mac_name_tab>.
But I doubt whether anyone has been porting GNU regex code to VMS
recently.
