How hard would it be to modify the compat NSS/PAM module to support
LDAP? In solaris, this is done using these lines in nsswitch.conf:
passwd: compat files
passwd_compat: ldap

I've looked in the compat module implementation, and it seem to be
locked to NIS methods at the moment.
