Well, I have experienced little resistance in the last four years when
porting free software packages to the GNU/Hurd, which doesn't provide
sys_errlist.  There are hardly any left which depend or even make use
of sys_errlist, and all of them are most trivial to fix.

But maybe you have made different experiences.
