Hi,
If I want to build a GNU toolchain from sources, and I unpack
GDB 5.0 and Binutils X.XX in to the same dir, many directories
would overlap (opcodes, intl, include, etc.). gdb/README
states,
... don't try to build gdb with a copy of bfd from
a release other than the gdb release (such as a binutils or gas
release), ...
Is it a bad idea to try and build everything in one tree?
If not, is it written anywhere which versions go together?
I'm working in a tree where someone has done this, and its becoming a
problem upgrading to new versions of either GDB or Binutils.
Thanks,
-Jamie
