Yao posted a while ago a first proposition where
stdout and stderr would be set to binary at start, even if normal
usage (i.e. outside of the testsuite environment).

But later, he came with another (old) idea of
allowing the testsuite to accept one or two \r before the \n.

But, honestly, given the time I spent on it a few years ago, I doubt
that this is an easier route...
That is the reason of this proposal.
