[PING] 13 months and counting for PR symtab/1651 fix.

Back in November of 2004, I proposed the following patch to xcoffread.c
to resolve PR symtab/1651, a core dump in gdb when attempting to read
binaries compiled with the native xlc compiler on AIX.
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/gdb-patches/2004-11/msg00422.html

Relatively rapidly after, Elena Zannoni proposed an alternate solution
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/gdb-patches/2004-11/msg00499.html which
I confirmed resolved the problem on AIX. Alas despite the best
intentions of "let me know if it works for you and I'll commit it",
this fix still hasn't managed to make its way into the FSF CVS tree,
despite several pings to the gdb-patches list and IRC.

Since the fall of 2004, a few things have progressed; the FSF paperwork
for my GDB copyright assignments has gone through, and I even got
to opportunity to meet Elena face-to-face in a restaurant in Ottawa.
But despite this passing of time, the proposed fix still applies
cleanly to gdb/xcoffread.c.

Being the season of good-will, is there any chance some kind soul
could commit this fix to CVS, and thereby close "serious" bug
symtab/1651 in gdb's bug database?

Happy New Year,

Roger
