I sent this question to Eli, but thought others might be interested.
The regex above woks on /.* and d:\.* and \\.* and \.* but it doesn't
work on d:.*. I can't see a simple way to add that last case. Does
anyone else?
This is the only way I could solve the last case,
\([A-z]:[^\].*\)|\([A-z]:\)?[/\\].*basics.c
