I just noticed that symtab.c was missing from the list below. It was updated in my tree, but not part of the patch. I have checked it in as obvious as it is just changing the call to decode_line_1 like the other files.

The linespec.c/.h part is approved.


Thanks - Jeff, with that approval I believe the rest of this patch is
obvious.  Eagerly awaiting the next bits.
