Re: [5.3/FYI] GDB build successes

I am not sure if you find this useful or not, but here goes. I have
verified that I can build GDB from the 5.3 branch using GNU make and
GCC (on most platforms, I actually used GNAT) for the following native
configurations: - sparc-solaris-2.5.1
                - sparc-solaris-2.8
                - pa-hpux-11.00
                - alpha-osf-4.0f
                - alpha-osf-5.1a
                - ppc-aix-5.1
                - mips-irix-6.5 (n32)

I have also run the testsuites, using the same compiler I used to build
GNAT, and the results were OK (although I did not compare them with what
we would get if we were to test 5.2.1). I don't think it is really
useful to public the results here, but let me know if you'd still like
them.
FWIW, there is a mailing list (gdb-testers@) and a test results web-page (http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/gdb.cgi) but both don't exactly appear active.

Anyway, it's been suggested that the GDB release announcement should mention the systems that GDB is known to build on.

Should something be included at the top of the NEWS file?

Thoughts?
Andrew
