Just a general comment given several recent debates.
Please remember that, when looking to make significant changes
(technical or structural), it is important to first discuss them
publicly. It is also equally important to endevor to ensure that such
proposals are clearly presented (separate independant thread) so that
the GDB community is aware of them and all their issues.
The reasons for doing this are many fold. Principally, I think, is that
this engages the wider GDB community. Only by engaging that community
can we hope to encourage participation, and that in turn allows us to
increase our contributor base. Further, at a mre practical level, this
gives your peers an opportunity to directly comment on your proposal.
From me, you could expect fairly generic comments, while I'd expect
others to provide more specific technical criticism.
enjoy,
Andrew
