[docbook-apps] [ANN] Oxygen XML Editor 5 improves the DocBook support

I am glad to let you know that a new version of Oxygen XML Editor is
available. I will briefly decribe below the DocBook support highlighting a
couple of the most interesting features added by version 5. For a complete
description of the new features please visit our website
http://www.oxygenxml.com

Oxygen XML Editor has a unique feature that presents XML Schema annotation
documentation for the elements, attributes and values that are entered
through the content completion. In version 5 this support was extended to
support also DTDs by handling the comments before element declarations as
annotations. The DocBook DTDs that ship with Oxygen were commented to
include documentation for all the elements and Oxygen offers instant help
for the current editing context.

The XSLT Debugger handles without problems the DocBook stylesheets allowing
you to see how DocBook really works. Along with all the expected debugging
features already added by previous versions of Oxygen the new version adds
support for mapping from the output result to the stylesheet location and
source location that produced that output by a simple click in the output
view.

The new version of Oxygen provides a ready to use DocBook support. There is
no need to configure anything, Oxygen automatically sets the XML Catalog,
the transformation scenarios and provides document templates. The user can
focus on his documents and not on how to configure the tool chain.

Summary of the Oxygen XML Editor DocBook features
- Document templates to easily create new DocBook documents
- Editing support guided by context sensitive content completion
- Instant documentation as you edit by presenting documentation for the
element selected in the content completion popup
- Model View to show the current element model
- XInclude support
- Pre-configured DocBook XML Catalog
- Ready to use FOP support as Oxygen XML Editor bundles Apache FOP
- External FOP support (with a very simple XEP configuration process - just
select the XEP script)
- Pre-configured scenarios for converting DocBook to PDF and HTML
- DocBook DTD (4.3 and 4.2) ship with Oxygen XML Editor
- DocBook XSL 1.66.1 ship with Oxygen XML Editor
- XSLT Debugger that works with the DocBook stylesheets

Oxygen XML Editor is available as a standalone Java application, as a plugin
for Eclipse or can be run through Java Web Start. It provides cross platform
support running on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, etc. A single license
costs $48 for Academic use and $96 for Professional use. A free 30 days
trial license is available from http://www.oxygenxml.com/register.html .

Best Regards,
George
