Dave:
Several days ago I asked the list if they were aware of any DocBook
projects similar to that which integrates TEI into OpenOffice. I
subsequently came across this site:
http://xml.openoffice.org/xmerge/docbook/.
I have not, however, been able to get it to work with OpenOffice 1.1.
Assuming the files at this site work with OO1.1, it may provide what you are
looking.
I have tested several xml editors (Oxygen, Morphon, XMLSpy, XMLMind,
XMetal) and have found that XMLMind is particularly good at showing what a
document will look like after processing. Unfortunately, it is rather slow
and not as user-friendly as top-of-the-line word processors.
