There's a FAQ that relates to this at:

In the template for article in running.foot.mode,
you'll want to add something like
<xsl:value-of select="articleinfo/revhistory/revision/revnumber"/> and
<xsl:value-of select="articleinfo/revhistory/revision/date"/>
or whatever parts of revhistory you want
in the appropriate place.
