Aha, thanks for the clarification. In help, I think we'd always want to
chunk whole topic - the first section only. So I'll try the above, just
changing 'chunk.section.depth=1'.

Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is designed around online
presentation, with the topic as the basic architectural unit. See
http://xml.coverpages.org/ni2001-03-16-a.html for starters. As far as I
understand it, I would consider DITA if I thought that we could design all
our information around an online model. If IBM has done a good job of
inventing this wheel it might even be an argument against Norm's proposal to
create still another specialized DTD. In fact, even if some specialized
online DTD becomes widely accepted, lots of folks (like us) need to publish
both print and online docs, and may not be able to use it. Those people will
still need the flexibility and extensibility of DocBook.
