target directorie names under cygwin

Hi !

I try to compile and install the GCC as cross-compiler under Cygwin for the PowerPC ( --target=powerpc-*-eabi ).

The problem is not the compilation, it's the installation. The command make install , try to create a directory with the name of the target
(in this case "powerpc-*-eabi" but the star is a disabled character for dir name (under Windows). Any idea ?

Older version use the target label "powerpc-eabi" but this is only valid for older versions, or ?

My packet version

binutils 20041229-1
gcc 3.4.1
newlib	1.13.0
