I have a feeling gcc-3.4.3 should be ok for that range of chips
(it gets so much use on i686 it can't be too wrong there,
and I assume the others are similar enough to benefit from that).

Likewise, glibc-2.3.3 would be a reasonable choice, at least if
you have enough RAM on the target. For low memory systems
you might need glibc-2.2.5 or even uclibc. How much RAM do
your targets have? What OS and version?

Mostly I'm aiming for older machines with pretty bare hardware, so in the 64MB - 128MB range, possibly lower, high speed networking would be a must so at least Linux 2.4.26, possibly out of the 2.6 when it gets a bit less flaky.

Sure, go with the latest released gcc and glibc. (And let us know if you run into any issues!) - Dan
