At present I'm trying to build the egcs cross compiler for my Sony Yaroze which is MIPS r3000 based, there seems to be a Sony target in the MIPS target specific directory, so I have a few questions. Is there any other Sony kit that is MIPs based? Or is the Sony stuff just what I'm looking for? I tried to configure egcs and build it, and it failed to build, is this common, is it me getting the configuration wrong, or is egcs supposed to compile for any configuration that configure will accept? I've got the command I used to attempt to configure egcs somewhere and I'll forward it if it could be any use. But I think its got something to do with a confused, broken makefile. 'as' complains that it doesn't understand the -O2 option. I suppose that it could have something to do with the version of Binutils that I have, but I think that I've got a recent enough version with Redhat 5.2 I tired compiling egcs using egcs 1.1.1 on a Linux installation with the 2.2.1 kernel (This is all from memory so I hope I'll not confuse with incorrect info). Has anyone got a clues as to where I should look for where its going wrong. Thanks in advance Brian _______________________________________________ New CrossGCC FAQ: http://www.objsw.com/CrossGCC _______________________________________________ To remove yourself from the crossgcc list, send mail to crossgcc-request@cygnus.com with the text 'unsubscribe' (without the quotes) in the body of the message.
