Update: rebuilding the Ubuntu .deb package with commit
63db23df87bf6408c0947053288b771d863ecf36 ("PR11112: Check the full %m/M buffer, and limit
the length") applied also prevents the panic. I tried this after noticing that SystemTap 1.3 aborted
my script with an error where 1.0 panicked the kernel.
