Because the files were taken from glibc and are under the LGPL. No LGPL
code is permitted in shared newlib directories. Newlib for x86 linux
uses these files. The library is LGPL and is built as a shared library.
Nearly all newlib platforms build a static library and would be
affected by LGPL code.
