Thanks for heads up, Carlos. The work on sorting was done by Mike
so I believe he would be better and faster fixing this than me.
The previous bug report was 15537. [1]
In the downstream [2] the OP says that the bug was introduced during
the 2.25 release cycle. Mike's work was in 2.27 release cycle. There
were no important changes in the sorting rules before that.
Unfortunately, I am unable to take a closer look at the issue
before the weekend.
