Please don't feel bad about bailing out! I am always happy to make a glibc
release :-)

Please lean on the stewards to help get patches in shape or review code
as the deadline approaches. Don't do the reviews yourself, instead delegate
and make people aware of the timelines. If they can't be met we release
without those features or fixes. That's the nature of a time-boxed release.
There is always a next release.
