Do we really need this assembly routines? GCC 4.8 on my environment generates for the
default inet/htonl.c:
$ gcc -m32 -Wall -march=i486 htonl.c -O2 -S -o -
.file "htonl.c"
.text
.p2align 4,,15
.globl htonl
.type htonl, @function
htonl:
.LFB8:
.cfi_startproc
movl 4(%esp), %eax
bswap %eax
ret
.cfi_endproc
.LFE8:
.size htonl, .-htonl
.ident "GCC: (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04) 4.8.4"
.section .note.GNU-stack,"",@progbits
