The patch removing bash dependencies is the diff between the glibc version 
of this script (before the present patch) and the EGLIBC version (which I 
will revert from EGLIBC at the next merge from glibc, since as far as I'm 
concerned it's now a spurious difference, having got in the present patch 
to solve the issue a different way).
