GNU convention if it's necessary to replace a tarball is to use a version
number such as 2.15a. That could be used for a tag to distinguish a new
tag from an old one. But you'd need a special branch for 2.15 + Makefile
fix, to avoid getting other post-2.15 changes from the branch. So for
2.15 I think it's better to:
> * Make the tarball.
Follow the instructions given by Alfred M. Szmidt to build the tarball and
upload the tarballs now; sort out the ports makefile rules for 2.15.1 and
2.16; given that they've been out-of-date for years they shouldn't block
getting the 2.15 tarballs uploaded.
