I'll leave it up to Jim whether he wants to try to deal with this. The
individual granularity of historical commits is not a big priority for us.
Sure, it's nice. But it's even nicer to have our friend Jim happily do a
"good enough and finally final" conversion he and we are confident about,
without undue delay and without taxing Jim's generous good graces.
