I've successfully used 2.95.2 with the Debian patch set (the relevant
patch is debian/patches/alpha-complex-float.dpatch, or some similar
file) in the past, but 2.96 is almost certainly more correct.

This specific problem (complex float support in libm) is a well known
issue with using 2.95 to build glibc on Alpha, and should probably be
documented if it isn't already.
