Infinity

I am trying how  the infinity is implemented so that it is compatible across all compilers.
Could you explain it to me in few words if possible?

I am wondering how this works,

PS. I have written a C++ procedure for evaluation probabilities for multivariate normal and t distributions. It can be easily converted to
