Bug ID: 16282
Summary: glibc needs to support the O_XATTR openat() flag on
Solaris+Illumos kernels
Product: glibc
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: libc
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: dan.f.shelton at gmail dot com
CC: drepper.fsp at gmail dot com
glibc needs to support the O_XATTR openat() flag on Solaris,Illumos kernels so
that applications which use the NFSv4 and ZFS extended attributes, also known
as Alternate Data Streams on CIFS and NTFS, can use them.
The issue has haunted NIH and the NIH bioinformatics software stack since quite
some time if it was build with glibc instead of the system's own libc.
