Your saying so doesn't make it true. You're not an expert.
In cases like this you have to rely on language rules, as well as existing usage
and common sense. You seem to ignore the last two. Following the rules blindly
is not wise. The already cited experts agree that for this specific, special
purpose we can ignore those rules, because the generic rules do not apply here.
Existing, widespread usage supports this. Common sense supports this.
Use of natural language in computer systems will cause problems which cannot
always be resolved sensibly by adapting the system. Sometimes you have to bend
the rules a bit. Do you know the KISS rule? Apply it.
