Date: Tue, 04 May 1999 16:25:29 -0700 From: Brian Nettleton <bn@aonix.com> I've made the assumption that the gdb patches for Ada from GNAT/ACT are uninteresting for the gdb baseline, but this may not be the case? The patches for adding 4.17 are available in src/gdb-4.17.gnat.diff contained in the file ftp://ftp.cs.nyu.edu/pub/gnat/gnat-3.11p-src.tar.gz This includes ada-lang.c, ada-exp,c, etc. I'd certainly be happy if these made there way into the baseline for gdb (the stuff in the tar file is GPL'ed). What are the roadblocks to adding this to the baseline? I would be happy to add the Ada support to the mainline GDB - it's certainly less far out than the Chill and Modula-2 bits in there now! When I last worked on this, a couple years ago, I was unable to get any response from the author, to get a current copy of the patches. Now the patches seem to be generally available, but I'm still unsure of the copyright assignment; I don't have any record showing one, although Robert Dewar assures me that it's been assigned to the FSF. So my next step is to get a new copy of the definitive list of valid assignments from the FSF. Stan
