STB_GNU_UNIQUE vs ELFOSABI_LINUX

Hi,
Does anybody know the story behind STB_GNU_UNIQUE showing up in
ELFOSABI_NONE files? Since in eblsymbolbindingname we check the EI_OSABI
for ELFOSABI_LINUX these show up as LOOS+0 instead of UNIQUE. My
impression is that the check for ELFOSABI_LINUX is correct, but doesn't
correspond to current practice for some reason. Anybody know the reason?
