Re 000403-2:
One of the issues that will come up as part of discussing 000403-2, is what
to call the new Dwarf representation defined as a result of 991102.1.
I used "64-bit safe DWARF description" in Draft 1, but can't say that I love
it. Also, Dave A and Mike E expressed varying degrees of displeasure with it.
(One or two people have used it in other proposals, but I don't regard that
necessarily as endorsement.)
Anyway, it really would help to have names for *both* the "traditional"
32-bit representation (in V2) and the new 64-bit representation (in V2.1).
So far my list of candidates is
32-bit variant 64-bit variant
-------------- --------------
? "64-bit safe DWARF description"
? "extended-section-offset DWARF"
"32-bit DWARF format" "64-bit DWARF format"
Anyone have any more suggestions to add to the list?
(Right now I just want to stir up the juices and brainstorm ideas. We can
debate the merits and make a choice at next Tuesday's meeting.)
