I believe the responces provided to your questions by Michael and Jim
are right on.
Please do take a look at the descriptions of DW_OP_push_object_address
in the DWARF 2.1 Draft 1 just posted to see if it leaves any doubt in
your mind. The material of interest is in Sections 2.4.2.3 bullet #11,
Section 5.10, and Appendix 6.
If you still think there may be some ambiguity it would be great if you could
suggest text that would make things clear. (Sometimes when one to the
creator of a write-up, you are too close to it to see what might be ambiguous
to someone else.)
It occurs to me that one change that might be helpful would be to change
the F90 example in Appendix 6 to use a descriptor with separate element
stride and scale factor such as you used in your questions. Would that be,
of itself, a reasonable way to remove all doubt?
