This workaround may not be needed. The trademark sign looks fine in JavaHelp
2.0 if it is represented natively in UTF-8 or as a character reference
(™).
From my experience, both Saxon and xsltproc always output ™. But Xalan
on the other hand stubbornly outputs the unwanted HTML entity, and I haven't
found a way to get around this.
