You can ignore those messages. I just checked into CVS the fixes needed to
suppress them in future releases. The target collection process reuses some
of the templates used by xref. The collection includes every element with
an id attribute, and some such elements don't really work with xref (such as
a listitem in an itemizedlist, which has no title). I thought I had
suppressed all such messages, but your mail prompted me to look again.
