[docbook-apps] How add angled brackets to <sgmltag class="element">?

Platform: DocBook XML 4.2, DocBook XSL 1.69.1

Is it simple/possible to do something in the local XSL customization
layer, to change the XSL:FO and HTML presentation of 
<sgmltag class"element">someelement</sgmltag> to make it include
angled brackets, 

Ie. turn the presentation into something like &lt;someelement&gt; in a
fixed width font?
