of cron possibly causing a system fault and can't kill the ssmtp
dead.letter running over.
Does it have to be ssmtp? How about Exim? Works for me without exploding
dead.letter files.
You can have cron logging to syslog-ng, and suppress cron's sending mail from
the crontab, if that helps.
