I have cygwin installed on Windows 2003 server. I have Public Key authentication working for SSH. Public Key Authentication SFTP connections crash. SFTP and SSH both work via password authentication. I have sshd installed. I used ssh-host-config to configure the server with privilege separation. I used ssh-user-config to generate the keys. The user is a Windows domain user. I populated /etc/passwd and /etc/group with: mkpasswd -d ExampleDomain -u TestUser >>../etc/passwd mkgroup -d ExampleDomain -g "Domain Users" >> /etc/group The client debug is here. I generated these keys on another cygwin server (same version). I copied the public keys to the host SFTP server. I have attempted this test from a separate cygwin server, from a Linux server, from Filezilla, and from WinSCP. All connections crash, so I assume this is a host side problem. I do not know how to enable debug on the server side. The test user is currently a local administrator Cygcheck.out attached.
