Undefined subroutine in perl debugger only on letter [t]

Using perl v5.8.7-5 under Cygwin 1.5.24:

I'm trying to use the perl debugger and it terminates whenever I want to use the letter 't'. It's the strangest thing. When I press 't' (without <cr> and only lowercase) I get:

--------------
Undefined subroutine readline::F_MenuComplete at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8/Term/ReadLine/readline.pm line 1843 at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8/SelfLoader.pm line 34

DB::DB called at test1.pl line 3
Debugged program terminated. Use q to quit or R to restart
--------------

All other letters work on the debugger command line, but as soon as I press 't' (anywhere on the line), the debugger instantly fails with the above output. So, it won't let me toggle trace or output variables that have a 't' in the name.

I tried reinstalling and installing previous perl version (v5.8.6-4); no luck.

I haven't seen any mention of this as a common problem in the forums and mailing lists. So, I would suspect there is something screwy with my installation or I'm missing something embarrassingly obvious.

I'm debugging my code in Linux for the meantime (working around references to win32 api). I would greatly appreciate any assist!

Kelvin
